Being one of the dynamic students of his set in the university, (Academic year 2014/2015) Amosu Sebomi has set a strong foundation and distinctive stairs of success.
Sebomi attended NewTech Model college in Lagos state, Nigeria, then he went ahead and obtained his BSc degree in Management of International Relations in IRGIB-Africa university of Excellence, Republic of Benin. He was also among the 1st English section set of the university and was given a masters scholarship to study Strategic Communication and marketing, now he’s an MBA holder from the same prestigious university. He is a very active member of the university marketing team and handles the school social media platforms, not leaving behind his communication skills in both English, which he speaks fluently and French, fairly well. He is also the founder and producer of a wonderful online program tagged “Accross The Border” powered and sponsored by IRGIB-AFRICA University, view also on the online TV platform www.irgibafrica.tv the show has more than hundred views and follow ups.This is what Sebomi had to say when he was asked how he feels about his position with the University-
“Coming to Benin Republic to study at IRGIB-AFRICA University, I never knew how things would end up but i had the vision and mindset that am going to be at the top, and I was enthusiastic about it. IRGIB-AFRICA being the school of opportunities had some offers and I did not hesitate to grab what I could and to God be the Glory, I made the best out of it. Although being an international relations student aiming to be a diplomat; there was never a dull moment. I and my colleagues engaged in different activities and events organized by the school. Today, I have also developed skills in photography, how to make designs on photoshop and many more”.
He went further to say-
“the journey wasn’t always smooth, I and my colleagues faced difficult times, we encountered difficulties such as language barrier, keeping up with work and studies, including my program ‘Across The Borders’, I encountered difficulties as there was hardly flexible timing , there were times when I felt weak and wanted to give up but I always motivated myself with this quote “ There’s always a mountain to climb and a war to fight, the choice of winning or losing lies in your hands”.
“My advice to youths out there, even the graduates with brilliant certificates is to get a skill(s) that will pay the bills, there are lot of jobs out there but you need to get the needed skills that every organization will always need. Always be Determined, have a watchword, have a daily plan to build yourself and see yourself as a Brand”.
